The foil sleeve in a nutshell
- what is it?

Sleeve is a "tube" of film (LDPE/HDPE), longitudinally sealed and open on one side, making it easy to insert the product and seal at the required length.
It also appears as half sleeve (folded in half) and tape (sheet without folding) - for manual packaging and automated lines.

Where do sleeves work best?

• Food: cured meats, cheeses, baked goods, vegetables and fruit - transparency facilitates display, while perforation and barrier options help to preserve freshness.

• Cosmetics and pharmacy: hygienic, aesthetically pleasing wrapping and packaging.

• Industry/commerce: tools, electronic components, chemicals, building materials - protection against moisture, dust and damage.

• Transport and storage: securing kits, sets and loads; easy labelling.

• Florists and medical accessories: maintaining humidity, cleanliness and order in transit.

Thick films - when you need "armour"

Thick films (usually LDPE/HDPE) are packaging with increased thickness - from a few tens of micrometres upwards - designed for heavier tasks.
They are characterised by high tear and abrasion resistance, low moisture permeability and a good barrier to grease and many chemicals.

Thick film applications:

• packaging heavy materials (construction, tools, gardening equipment),

• waste sacks with increased strength and puncture resistance,

• security products against moisture, dirt and external agents (including options with UV additives),

• bags/recorders with printed on - a vehicle for information and advertising.
